raṭaṇēṃ (रटणें).—v i (Poetry. For raḍaṇēṃ) To utter its cry--the bēḍakuḷī or small frog. Hence To set up a ṭakaḷī or loud and long cry--a child.

rataṇēṃ (रतणें).—v i (Poetry. rata) To sport or wanton; to divert one's self lightly. Ex. cittavṛtti ratalī hari- pāyīṃ || 2 To sport carnally; to have sexual intercourse.
