Lenient; to yield. Water Margin, Chapter 68: "Everyone is yielding to you. I am not even afraid of heaven. What good does it do to keep yielding back and forth!" (眾人都你一步 [zhong ren dou ni yi bu]。我自天也不怕 [wo zi tian ye bu pa],你只管讓來讓去做甚鳥 [ni zhi guan rang lai rang qu zuo shen niao]! Zhong ren dou rao rang ni yi bu. Wo zi tian ye bu pa, ni zhi guan rang lai rang qu zuo shen niao!)

Book of Han, Volume 21, Treatise on Music and Calendar (漢書 [han shu].卷二一 [juan er yi].律曆志上 [lu li zhi shang]): "The Warring States period was turbulent and chaotic, and then Qin (秦 [qin]) unified the world." Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Chapter 20 (三國演義 [san guo yan yi]): "Now is a time of turbulence and chaos in the world, so we should use hunting as a way to practice military skills."
擾攘:紛亂。《漢書.卷二一.律曆志上》:「戰國擾攘,秦兼天下。」《三國演義》第二○回:「今四海擾攘之時,正當借田獵以講武。」
