Rāṇapurastavana (राणपुरस्तवन) is the name of a work by Samayasundara dealing with Sacred places in Jain literature.—The Rāṇapurastavana (in Rajasthani) is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The Rāṇapurastavana is an instance of a spontaneously created hymn by a famous Jain author: He wrote it on the occasion of a pilgrimage to Rāṃṇapura, mod. Ranakpur, Rajasthan, a famous Jain sacred place with exquisitely carved marble temples, dedicated in particular to the first Jina, Ādinātha. The main temple is evoked in this song which was composed in VS 1672 (= 1615 ce).
