Raktotpalapatra (रक्तोत्पलपत्र) refers to the “red lotus leaf utensils” (used for food) according to the 17th century Bhojanakutūhala (dravyaguṇāguṇa-kathana).—The food-utensils that are made of Raktotpalapatra (red lotus leaf) have the following dietetic effects: nindita, śīta, rūkṣa (scorned, cool, pungent) vṛṣya, klamahara and “yātrārthināṃ abhihita” (aphrodisiac, removes weariness and suitable for travellers).
