rahāṇēṃ (रहाणें).—v i See this word under the form rāhaṇēṃ; although both the forms are approved.

rāhaṇēṃ (राहणें).—v i (raha S) To stay, abide, continue, remain. 2 To continue in a state. Ex. ēkā bōṭāvara kāṭhī kasī rāhīla. 3 To remain or be contained in (as in a vessel or receptacle). 4 To stop, cease, discontinue, end. Ex. pāūsa rāhilā mhaṇajē tujhyā pōṭāntīla tiḍīka rāhīla. 5 To remain or be left for the present; to lie unfinished or unexecuted; to lie. Ex. vāḍyācēṃ kāma ardhēṃ ardhēṃ rāhilēṃ; yandā tyācēṃ lagna hōṇāra hōtēṃ paṇa rāhilēṃ. 6 To remain; to lie over; to be left as surplus, balance, in hand, in pocket. 7 To refrain from; to hold back without doing. Ex. tvāṃ śivī dilhīsa tara tō tōṇḍānta māralyāśivāya rāhaṇāra nāhīṃ. 8 or rāhūna jāṇēṃ To lose their power, vigor, sensation--the limbs or members: to fail or sink--strength or spirits. 9 To be entertained; to come and stay as a retainer or servant. Ex. tū ēkā mahinyācā cākara mī kālapāsūna rāhilōṃ. 10 rāhaṇēṃ in the sense To stay from; to refrain from; to remain passive and still; (See Sig. VII;) throws the verb in conjunction with it into the form āyācā; as hā mārā- yācā -khāyācā -basāyācā -jāyācā rāhilā He refrained from beating, eating &c. rāhūna After waiting or stopping; after an interval. rāhūna rāhūna With intermissions; with stops and pauses; by fits and starts.
