Rac (रच्).—1 U. (racyati-te, racita)

1) To arrange, prepare, make ready, contrive, plan; पुष्पाणां प्रकरः स्मितेन रचितो नो कुन्दजात्यादिभिः (puṣpāṇāṃ prakaraḥ smitena racito no kundajātyādibhiḥ) Amaru 45; रचयति शयनं सचकितनयनम् (racayati śayanaṃ sacakitanayanam) Gīt. 5.

2) To make, form, effect, create, produce; माया- विकल्परचितैः स्यन्दनैः (māyā- vikalparacitaiḥ syandanaiḥ) R.13.75; माधुर्यं मधुबिन्दुना रचयितुं क्षाराम्बु- धेरीहते (mādhuryaṃ madhubindunā racayituṃ kṣārāmbu- dherīhate) Bhartṛhari 2.6; मौलौ वा रचयाञ्जलिम् (maulau vā racayāñjalim) Ve.3.4.
