A temporary, expedient measure or arrangement (暫時變通的處置 [zan shi bian tong de chu zhi]).
From 《後漢書 [hou han shu].卷八七 [juan ba qi].西羌傳 [xi qiang chuan].論曰 [lun yue]》 (Hòu Hàn Shū, juan 87, Xī Qiāng Zhuàn, Lùn Yuē): "Focusing on the immediate expedient measures, they forgot the long-term strategies (遠略 [yuan lue]) for governing the world (經世 [jing shi])."
From 《大宋宣和遺事 [da song xuan he yi shi].元集 [yuan ji]》 (Dà Sòng Xuānhé Yíshì, Yuán Jí): "Making decisions based on what was expedient, envoys and messengers (使傳 [shi chuan]) hurried back and forth."

權宜:暫時變通的處置。《後漢書.卷八七.西羌傳.論曰》:「計日用之權宜,忘經世之遠略。」《大宋宣和遺事.元集》:「酌以權宜,交馳使傳。」
