From "Biography of Yang Chang" (楊敞傳 [yang chang chuan]), Volume 66 (卷六六 [juan liu liu]) of the "Book of Han" (漢書 [han shu]): "Waving sleeves (奮褎 [fen xiu]) up and down (低卬 [di ang]), stamping feet (頓足 [dun zu]) and starting to dance."
From Su Shi's (蘇軾 [su shi]) "Prelude to Water Tune: When Is There a Bright Moon?" (水調歌頭 [shui diao ge tou].明月幾時有 [ming yue ji shi you]), a ci poem (詞 [ci]) from the Song Dynasty (宋 [song]): "Dancing with my clear shadow (弄清影 [nong qing ying]), how is it comparable to being in the human world (在人間 [zai ren jian])?"

1. Belonging to the category of zunyi (尊彞 [zun yi]) (ritual vessels). From Zhouli (周禮 [zhou li]), "Autumn Officials" (秋官 [qiu guan]), "Grand Envoy" (大行人 [da xing ren]): "Once every three years, they present qiwu as tribute." Han (漢 [han]) Dynasty, Zheng Xuan's (鄭玄 [zheng xuan]) commentary states: "Qiwu refers to items like zunyi (尊彞 [zun yi])."
2. A general term for various tools or implements. From Hanshu (漢書 [han shu]), Volume 24, "Treatise on Food and Money, Part Two" (食貨志下 [shi huo zhi xia]): "Those who dare to privately cast iron implements or sell salt shall have their left foot branded and their qiwu confiscated."
