Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationPutratraya (पुत्रत्रय) refers to the “three sons of Tāraka” (i.e., Tārakākṣa, Vidyunmālī and Kamalākṣa), according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.5.1 (“Description of Tripura—the three cities).—Accordingly, as Brahmā ordered Maya to build the three cities: “Then the intelligent Maya built the cities by means of his penance: the golden one for Tārakākṣa, the silver one for Kamalākṣa and the steel one for Vidyunmālī. The three fort-like excellent cities were in order in heaven, sky and on the earth. After building the three cities for the Asuras, Maya established them there desiring their welfare. Entering the three cities thus, the sons of Tāraka (putratraya), of great strength and valour experienced all enjoyments. [...].
