Source: What is India: Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy (1945-1952)Puṭlūru is an archaeologically important site situated in Tadpatri-taluk (Anantapur district, Madras), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Puṭlūru there is a stone (proper right of entrance) in the Vighneśvara temple which seems to register a gift made to gods Chennakeśava and Mūlasthānam Bhogeśvara at Puṭlūru, a village included in Pennabaḍi-māgāṇi of the Gutti-rājya.
This inscriptions is dated Śaka 1468 (1546 A.D., December 2).
