Source: Shodhganga: a concise history of Sanskrit Chanda literature (history)Puruṣottamabhaṭṭa (पुरुषोत्तमभट्ट) is the preceptor of Gaṅgādāsa (beg. of 16th century): the exponent on metrics who has contributed to Sanskrit prosody through his marvelous work Chandomañjarī, a short tract on the science of prosody. Gaṅgādāsa mentions about his preceptor namely Puruṣottama Bhaṭṭa, the author of Chandogovinda (another work on Chanda, which is lost to us) in the first chapter of Candomañjarī. Quoting Puruṣottama in the context of yati he says that sages like Śveta, Māṇḍavya were not in the favor of yati, as pointed by Bhaṭṭa Puruṣottama.
