(-rttaḥ-rttā-rttaṃ) 1. Filled, full, complete. 2. Covered, concealed. n. (-rtta) 1. An act of pious liberality, as digging a well, planting a grove, building a temple, &c. 2. Nourishing, cherishing. It is thus defined in Vachaspatya:—“vāpīkūpataḍāgādi devatā yatanāni ca . anna pradānamārāmaḥ pūrtamityabhighīyate” .. E. pṛ to cherish or fill, aff. kta, and the vowel changed.
