Pūraṇapratyaya (पूरणप्रत्यय).—A tad. affix showing the completion of the particular number (संख्या (saṃkhyā)) shown by the word to which the affix is applied; cf. . अर्धपूर्वपदश्च पूरणप्रत्ययान्तः संख्याशब्दो भवतीति वक्तव्यम् । अर्धपञ्चमः । (ardhapūrvapadaśca pūraṇapratyayāntaḥ saṃkhyāśabdo bhavatīti vaktavyam | ardhapañcamaḥ |) M. Bh.on P.I.1.23 Vart. 7. These affixes are mentioned by Panini in V.2. 48 to 58.
