The excavations at Purana Qila near Indraprastha, have revealed rich signs of habitation in Kushan period. “The Saka-Kushan period was distinguished by the structural remains of baked-bricks (size:37x22x5cm).” Along with regularly and systematically built structures of the Kushan period, red ware consisting of bowls and sprinklers were found throughout the period. Bone dice of various type, terracotta plaques and figurines, a figure of small yaksha (Kubera) prepared by double mould, skin rubbers, votive tank, etc are other important discoveries. Kushan coins were also discovered here along with the coins belonging to Mathura kings and Yaudheyas (IAR 1969-70).
