A village in the Dakkhinadesa of Ceylon, where Manabharana lived under the name of Virabahu (Cv.lxi.26) and where Parakkamabahu I. was born (Ibid., lxxii.18). Parakkamabahu subsequently erected there the Sutigharacetiya, one hundred and eighty feet high, on the site of the house in which he was born. Ibid., lxxix.61.
