Pravrājayati (प्रव्राजयति).—used in non-caus. meaning, enters ascetic life: yan nv ahaṃ bhagavato 'ntike °jayeyam Gaṇḍavyūha 417.15. Cf. the opposite, sādhu ca (ca om. in 1 ms.; Senart em. tvaṃ, unnecessarily) pravrajāhi (Senart pravrājehi, metrical(ly) im- possible!) mām Mahāvastu iii.386.13 (verse), and please initiate me into ascetic life!
