Prāvī (प्रावी).—[adjective] heedful, zealous.

Pravī (प्रवी).—drive on, set in motion; impel, inspire; strive on or after, enter into ([accusative]); fall upon, attack; inire, impregnate.
Pravī is a Sanskrit compound consisting of the terms pra and vī (वी).
1) Pravī (प्रवी):—[=pra-√vī] [Parasmaipada] -veti, to go forth, [Ṛg-veda];
—to strive after, make for, enter into, [ib.];
—to attack, assail, [ib.];
—to enter, fertilize, impregnate, [ib.; Taittirīya-saṃhitā; Atharva-veda; Kāṭhaka];
—to urge on, inspirit, animate, [Ṛg-veda]
2) Prāvī (प्रावी):—[from prāv] mfn. attentive, mindful, [Ṛg-veda]
Prāvī (प्रावी):—(wie eben) adj. aufmerksam, sorgsam: sa mānuṣīṣu dū.abho vi.ṣu prā.īramartyaḥ . dū.o viśveṣāṃ bhuvat [Ṛgveda 4, 9, 2.] prakarṣeṇa gantā [Sāyaṇa] — Vgl. 1. avī, duṣprāvī, suprāvī .
