Pratyavaskanda (प्रत्यवस्कन्द).—(In law) A special plea; admitting a fact, but qualifying it in such a manner that it may not appear as a count of accusation.

(-ndaḥ) A special plea at law; admission of a fact, but qualifying or explaining it so as not to allow it to be a matter of accusation. E. prati against, ava before, skadi to go, aff. ghañ; also with lyuṭ aff. pratyavaskandana .
