Pratisaṃvidita (प्रतिसंविदित).—adj. -ppp. (Pali, in neg. a-ppaṭi°, in meaning 1), (1) experienced, known: °ditānāṃ vedanānāṃ saṃjñānāṃ tarkānām utpādaḥ sthānaṃ nirodhaś ca Bodhisattvabhūmi 75.20; mahājana-prati° Mūla-Sarvāstivāda-Vinaya ii.99.14, known to a lot of people; in this sense app. back-formation from prati- saṃvedayati, as if from its non-caus. present, compare Critical Pali Dictionary s.v. appaṭisaṃvidita; (2) possessed of (full) special know- ledge (in this sense doubtless based directly on the noun pratisaṃvid-ā,-a): (ye janā) aśrāddhā mandaprasādās te dāni pratisaṃviditā bhavanti Mahāvastu iii.256.5 (on Buddha's entrance to a city; along with other miracles); (3) see a-prati°.
