Pratipuṃgala (प्रतिपुंगल) or Pratipudgala.—(see pudgala), (1) = Pali paṭipuggala, and compare a-prati°, match, equal, counterpart: nāsti me pratipuṃgalaḥ Lalitavistara 406.3 (verse); (2) pl., several, distinct personalities, if text is right: tathāṣṭau prati- pudgalāḥ Dharmasaṃgraha 103; but text is badly corrupted here; the following list contains more than 8 items confusedly drawn from list found in Mahāvyutpatti 1008—28 and in Pali, Pug. p. 3.
