Praṣṭhauhī (प्रष्ठौही).—f. (-hī) A cow pregnant with her first calf. E. praṣṭha here said to be the first birth, and vah to bear, aff. ṇvi or vic, fem. aff. ṅīp, and va is changed to ū, which with the preceding vowel becomes au by special rule.
