Pramṛj (प्रमृज्).—2 P.

1) To wipe off or out, cleanse (fig. also); स्वभावलोलेत्ययशः प्रमृष्टम् (svabhāvaloletyayaśaḥ pramṛṣṭam) R.6.41.

2) To wipe off, away or out, blow out, efface; नामान्येषां लिखामि ध्रुवमहमधुना चित्रगुप्तः प्रमार्ष्टु (nāmānyeṣāṃ likhāmi dhruvamahamadhunā citraguptaḥ pramārṣṭu) Mu.1.2.

3) To remove, rid oneself of.

4) To atone for, make amends for, expiate; प्रणिपातलङ्घनं प्रमार्ष्टुकामा (praṇipātalaṅghanaṃ pramārṣṭukāmā) V.3; सर्वथा प्रमार्जितं त्वया प्रत्यादेशदुःखम् (sarvathā pramārjitaṃ tvayā pratyādeśaduḥkham) Ś.6.
