Prakram (प्रक्रम्).—step forth, set out, go to ([accusative]), go across, pass; [Middle] deal with ([locative]); [Middle] (A.) proceed to, undertake, begin ([accusative], artham, or [infinitive]).

Prakram is a Sanskrit compound consisting of the terms pra and kram (क्रम्).

Prakram (प्रक्रम्):—[=pra-√kram] [Parasmaipada] [Ātmanepada] -krāmati, -kramate, ([Parasmaipada]) to step or stride forwards, set out, walk on, advance, proceed, resort to ([accusative]; [Aorist] [Ātmanepada] -cakramanta, [Ṛg-veda ii, 19, 2]; prākraṃsta, [Bhaṭṭi-kāvya]), march, pass, go, [Ṛg-veda] etc. etc.;

— (with pradakṣiṇam) to walk around from left to right, [Bhāgavata-purāṇa];

—to cross, traverse, [Rāmāyaṇa];

— ([Ātmanepada]) to undertake, commence, begin (with [accusative], artham ifc., or [infinitive mood]), [Mahābhārata] (also [Parasmaipada] e.g. varayām pra-cakramuḥ = yāṃ-cakruḥ, [i, 1809]), [Kāvya literature] etc. (cf. [Pāṇini 1-3, 42]);

—to act or behave towards ([locative case]), [Mahābhārata] :
