Source: Wikisource: A dictionary of Sanskrit grammarPrajñādi (प्रज्ञादि).—A class of words headed by the word प्रज्ञ (prajña) to which the tad. affix अ (a) (अण् (aṇ)) is added without any change of sense: e.g. प्राज्ञः, वाणिजः (prājñaḥ, vāṇijaḥ) etc:; cf. प्रज्ञ एय प्राज्ञः । प्राज्ञी स्त्री । यस्यास्तु प्रज्ञा विद्यते सा प्राज्ञा भवति (prajña eya prājñaḥ | prājñī strī | yasyāstu prajñā vidyate sā prājñā bhavati) | Kas. on P.V. 4. 38.
Vyakarana (व्याकरण, vyākaraṇa) refers to Sanskrit grammar and represents one of the six additional sciences (vedanga) to be studied along with the Vedas. Vyakarana concerns itself with the rules of Sanskrit grammar and linguistic analysis in order to establish the correct context of words and sentences.
