Poḍhāla (पोढाल) is the name of a garden visited by Mahāvīra during his eleventh year of spiritual-exertion.—From Sānulaṭṭhiya the Lord proceeded to Dṛḍhabhūmi. Outside the city, in the caitya named Polāsa, was a garden named ‘Poḍhāla’. There, observing a fast, the Lord bent his body slightly and fixing his gaze on a gross object, he became meditative. The Lord, completing his meditation, left for Bālukā.
