Source: om.ru: Doshas in AyurvedaPittadoṣa (पित्तदोष) [pitta-dosha] predominates in the umbilical region, from the navel to the apex of the heart.—Pitta-dosha, in which the element of Fire predominates, provides metabolism - metabolic processes in the body, digestion of food, transformation of bodily tissues and maintenance of body temperature.
Pitta-dosha corresponds to the middle period of life, maturity—the time of vigorous activity and accumulation of experience. The Pitta season is summer and early autumn with humid and warm weather, the time of day is the middle of the day when the sun and digestive fire are most active, and also the middle of the night.
Āyurveda (आयुर्वेद, ayurveda) is a branch of Indian science dealing with medicine, herbalism, taxology, anatomy, surgery, alchemy and related topics. Traditional practice of Āyurveda in ancient India dates back to at least the first millenium BC. Literature is commonly written in Sanskrit using various poetic metres.
