Piṇḍatarkaka (पिण्डतर्कक):—[=piṇḍa-tarkaka] [from piṇḍa > piṇḍ] m. [plural] ‘inquirers for the Śrāddha oblation (?)’, ancestors preceding, the great-grandfather (who eat the remnants of the oblation made to the Pitṛs), [Gṛhyāsaṃgraha; Baudhāyana-dharma-śāstra] ([varia lectio] -tarkuka [also para-tarkaka or kuka], -takṣaka, -takṣuka, piṇḍa-tarkya, piṇḍidaka).
