Source: academia.edu: A Prayer for Rebirth in the SukhāvatīPīnāyatakarṇa (पीनायतकर्ण) refers to “thick and long ears” and represents the sixty-eighth of the eighty minor marks of distinction (anuvyañjana) mentioned in the Sukhāvatī and following the order of the Mahāvyutpatti (269-348). In Tibetan, the characteristic called Pīnāyatakarṇa is known as ‘sñan shal stug cing ring ba’. The Sukhāvatī represents a prayer for rebirth which was composed by Karma chags med, a Karma bka’ brgyud master, who lived in the seventeenth century.
