Phūṃṭa (फूंट):—(nf) disunion/disunity, discord, rift, chasm; a species of large cucumber resembling a musk-melon in appearance that splits up on ripening; see [phūṭanā]; used as the second member of the compound [ṭūṭa-phūṭa; —ke bīja bonā] to sow the seeds of disunion/rift/discord; —[ḍālanā] to set (persons) by the ears/at variance; to cause disunion/rift/discord/chasm; —[paḍanā/honā] to have a rift/discord, to be divided/disunited.
