phēḍaṇēṃ (फेडणें).—v c (Active of phiṭaṇēṃ) To loosen, slacken, undo (a fastened garment, a knot or tie). 2 To pay off; to clear off or away (debts, favors, injuries, vows, promises, doubts, difficulties, pressures. Pr. hōtīla bāḷa tara phēḍatīla kāḷa. 3 To clear or to clear away gen. (the nose, its mucus, any nastiness or rubbish). Pr. māyā vēḍī gū phēḍī. Used in numerous applications of the general sense To deterge, purge, scour, clear off or away. 4 To turn out (of one vessel) into another.
