1) Phaṭana (फटन):—(nf) a rupture, rent, rip; gap, fissure; split.

2) Phaṭanā (फटना) [Also spelled fatna]:—(v) to be torn, to be split; to burst, to explode, to crack; to tatter; (milk) to become sour (e.g. [dūdha]—); to be put off, to develop a sense of aversion; to be repulsed; [phaṭa paḍanā] to explode, to shout forth angrily, to burst out into loud invectives/rebuke/reprimand.
