Imit. of the sound of the flapping of wings, fluttering of a flag, crackling of a stiff paper, clapping of a field-clapper, clacking of a sup (sifting fan), pattering of rain, popping or rattling of musketry, of vehement railing or abusing, of smart smacking or slapping &c. &c. v kara, cāla, uḍa, hāla, vāja.
