Pētacaivam (பேதசைவம்) [pēta-caivam] noun < idem. +. (Śaiva Philosophy) A Śaiva sect which holds that the path of salvation lies through worship of Śivaliṅga, guru and devotees, and meditation on Śiva in His triple aspect of uruvam, aruvam and aru-v-uruvam, one of 16 caivam, q.v.; சைவம் பதினாறனுள் குருலிங்க சங்கம பத்தி பூண்டு சிவனை உருவமாகவும் அருவமாகவும் அருவுருவமாகவும் தியானித்தலால் முத்திசித்திக்குமெனக் கூறும் சமயம்.
