Source: DDSA: The Molesworth Marathi and English Dictionarypēṇḍēṃ (पेंडें).—n (pēḍa) A necklace composed of strings of pearls. 2 A loop or ring (as of the dāvēṃ or dāvaṇa, of the ghōḍakīṃ of a gāḍā or load-cart &c.) 3 C A knot of persons in union or as holding mutual relation; a circle, coterie, company, crew, club, band, pack, gang. Ex. pañca vādī sākṣīdāra asēṃ sagaḷēṃ pēṇḍēñcēṃ pēṇḍēṃ uṭhūna ālēṃ. 4 A common term for the cords connecting together the jumpaṇēṃ and the aṭaṇī (members of the loom): also the cord-loop of the bailā or bailī.
