pāvaṭī (पावटी).—f (pāya) A footprint; an impressed step. Used pl (pāvaṭyā) it signifies a path beaten out by the foot (as along a muddy road). In loc. case (pāvaṭīṃ) and with a numeral prefix, it takes the sense of Time; as ēka pāvaṭīṃ Once, dōna pāvaṭīṃ Twice. Ex. śambhara pā0 sāṅgitalēṃ parantu rīta sōḍī nā.
