Pauthī (पौथी) or Pothī refers to a “manuscript”, according to the Rāmacaritrabhāṣā (classified as Renderings of Sanskrit classics), which is included in the collection of manuscripts at the ‘Vincenzo Joppi’ library, collected by Luigi Pio Tessitori during his visit to Rajasthan between 1914 and 1919.—The author/copyist was the Brahmin Gauḍa Bhīṣanadāsa, a resident of Sojhat (Rajasthan; hara° perhaps refers to an area in this city). The sponsor of the manuscript (pauthī = pothī, here used as a general term, and not to refer to the oblong Indian format, since this manuscript has the book-format) was Ghanarāja Singhvī.
