Another important officer paṭṭasāhiṇi is mentioned in association with sakalasenādhipati. D.C. Sircar held that paṭṭa means a territorial term meaning a group of villages, sāhiṇi can be interpreted as the master infantry. The paṭṭasāhiṇi was the master of royal infantry forces of a group of villages or a territorial unit.
