(Auto-Translation): There are four appropriate and beneficial matters to mention. With the blessings received in accordance to righteous conduct - (1) providing prosperity for oneself, parents, children, relatives, and close friends, (2) being able to create wealth in times of danger from fire, water, kings, thieves, and harmful foes, (3) performing five types of homage ("balit") for relatives, guests, deceased relatives, and gods, (4) establishing a generous nature free from arrogance and negligence, and practicing patience and mindfulness, resulting in generous donations. These four matters are good and appropriate deeds known as "patakamma." It is stated that these four patakamma lead to an appropriate resolution that enables one to retrieve those lost blessings in accordance with a righteous context.
Pali is the language of the Tipiṭaka, which is the sacred canon of Theravāda Buddhism and contains much of the Buddha’s speech. Closeley related to Sanskrit, both languages are used interchangeably between religions.
