Source: archive.org: Shiva Purana - English TranslationPatisevā (पतिसेवा) refers to “serving one’s husband”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.35 (“The story of Padmā and Pippalāda”).—Accordingly, as Padmā (wife of sage Pippalāda) said to Dharma: “[...] In the Satyayuga you will be all-pervasive and in the other Yugas partially so. Thus in accordance with the Yugas, you will be maintaining your position. Let these words of mine be true and pleasing to you. I am now going to serve my husband (patisevā). O lord, you return to your abode. [...]”.
