pāṭhavaḷa (पाठवळ).—n (pāṭha & vaḷaṇēṃ) A beast (bullock, horse, camel &c.) broken in to carry a rider. Pr. śēṭa śāhaṇā āṇi baila pā0. A beast of burden, although esp. a horse. 3 fig. A lusty or patient person ready or made to carry or to do anything; a quiet butt or enduring laughing-stock; a burly wife or woman; a kept mistress.
