pāṭhapalāṇēṃ (पाठपलाणें).—n (pāṭha Back, palāṇēṃ Packsaddle.) At weddings. A humorous designation of the articles (cōḷakhaṇa & lugaḍēṃ) presented to his mother-in-law by the bridegroom: also for the same articles presented to the bridegroom's mother by the mother of the bride on her stepping off the pāyaghaḍyā to enter the house.
