Paryādāna (पर्यादान).—nt. (= Pali pariyā°; to prec.), (1) reg-ularly, exhaustion, giving out: especially common in comb. parikṣayaṃ °dānaṃ plus a form of gacchati, give out and be completely exhausted, Divyāvadāna 4.3; 10.29; 100.24; 169.25; 488.10; 567.30; Avadāna-śataka i.48.8; ii.193.7; Karmavibhaṅga (and Karmavibhaṅgopadeśa) 65.6; na kṣīyate na °dānaṃ gacchati Gaṇḍavyūha 138.9; (without parikṣaya) Lalitavistara 207.14 °dānaṃ (Calcutta (see LV.) paryavadānaṃ, and so [Boehtlingk]) gacchanti pātālasaṃdhigatam iva vāri; Mahāvyutpatti 2113; 2579; Avadāna-śataka ii.193.6 jīvita-paryādānād from (after) the end of life; Śikṣāsamuccaya 177.15 sarvākuśaladharma-paryādāna-karaṇatayā; (2) in Gaṇḍavyūha 495.22 -viṣa-paryādāna-tayā, perhaps because of the condition of mastering (overcoming) of poison (but perhaps rather exhaustion?).
