Parśvādi (पर्श्वादि).—A class of words headed by the word पर्शु (parśu) to which the tad. affix अ (a) (अण् (aṇ)) is added without any change of sense provided the words पर्शु (parśu) and others, to which the affix अ (a) is to be added mean fighting clans; e. g. पार्शव, आसुरः, राक्षसः, दाशार्हः (pārśava, āsuraḥ, rākṣasaḥ, dāśārhaḥ) etc. cf. Kaas. on V. 3.117.
