pañcōtarā (पंचोतरा).—m (pañca & uttara) Interest at the rate of 5 per cent. per mensem. 2 In some places. A tax or duty of 5 per cent. 3 also pañcōtarī f A surplus five thrown into the hundred (in selling bundles of kaḍabā or grass, mangoes &c.) 4 Allowances (hakka) at the rate of 5 per cent. of the collections (of revenue &c.) 5 Service-land at the rate of five bighas or acres granted, assignmentfree, to the Paṭil for every hundred cultivated on account of Government.
