pañcamisaḷa (पंचमिसळ).—m sometimes pañcamēḷa f A dish composed of five sorts of pulse. 2 A miscellane or mixture of five or more varieties of corn or pulse. 3 fig. A family or caste arising from intermarriages among the varieties of that caste,--as a tribe of Brahmans of the mingled blood of the Karaṛ, Chittpawan, Deshasth, kiravanta, & dēvarukhā; also among castes in general. 4 An assembly consisting of members of five different castes. 5 fig. Any heterogeneously composed or ceremonially confused assembly.
