Pancha-kaṇṭaka group:—Consists of the five (thorny) shrubs:

  1. trikaṇṭaka,
  2. karamarda,
  3. saireyaka,
  4. śatāvari
  5. and gridhranakhi.

These drugs alleviate kapha, and are useful in all types of prameha, in the three kinds of śopha, in rakta-pitta and defects of semen (śukra-doṣa).
