Pālūru is an archaeologically important site situated in Rapur-taluk (Nellore district, Madras), known for inscriptions regarding the ancient history of India. For example, at Pālūru there is a Nandi-pillar lying between this village and Anantamaḍugu which Registers a gift of one puṭṭi of land to god Śrīraṅganāṭha by the king. Refers to the raising of a flower-and-fruit garden for the god Mallināthadeva at the maṭha in the garden of Sōmireḍḍi and in the village, by Ballirāju Siddhayadeva Mahārāja of the Solar race.

This inscription in the Telugu language belongs to king Rājagaṇḍagopaladeva of the Telugu-Chōda dynasty and is dated Śaka 1220.
