Pākhaṃḍa (पाखंड) [Also spelled pakhand]:—(nm) hypocrisy; pretence, pretension, sham, dissimulation; —[karanā] to be pretentious, to indulge in hypocritical conduct, to dissimulate; —[phailānā] to contrive plans for deception; to indulge in hypocritical intrigues, to put up a show, to prepare the stage for dissimulatory acts.
