Pādasamvāhana (पादसम्वाहन) refers to “massaging one’s feet”, according to the Śivapurāṇa 2.3.54 (“Description of the duties of the chaste wife”).—Accordingly, as a Brahmin lady said to Pārvatī: “[...] She who delights her husband delights all the worlds. When she sees her husband coming home she shall hasten to serve him food and water, hand him betel and change of garments, and serve him by massaging his feet (pādasamvāhana). By pleasing words she shall fascinate him and dispel his gloom. [...]”.
