Pāñcālamadhyamā (पाञ्चालमध्यमा) is another name (synonym) for Pāñcālī, which refers to one of the four pravṛtti (‘local usage’); it is a Sanskrit technical term defined in the Nāṭyaśāstra verse 6.14. These pravṛttis provide information regarding costumes, languages, and manners in different countries of the world.
